FridgeFTA launches our own Boxee App/Channel!!!

I am very excited to announce that as of 30 minutes ago FridgeFTA Satellite TV App launched and is available on BOXEE.

This has been a big project and has been testing for quite awhile. Finally it is up but we are not done. Currently you can watch all the episodes of FridgeFTA TV including the July broadcast master on FridgeFTA Satellite TV. All of our content is and will be available worldwide for free. In the coming weeks selected Youtube videos will be added, along with something VERY VERY BIG, to be announced…

If you don’t have Boxee yet, get it. Boxee is free and has tons of cool and free content including current run TV shows, news, sports and even free porn. If you have Boxee but don’t have it hooked into your TV yet, do it. Awesome on my 47″ and there is lots of HD content on Boxee. Plus you will probably want it ready to go for when the big announcement comes down.

July 2010 FridgeFTA TV is out, many new changes

July 2010 FridgeFTA TV is up and available to watch. In this episode: The end of 4DTV, Zombiesat & SES1 news, new channels, NFusion and Sonicview, FreeDBS.org investigation update, First Strike satellite meter, a satellite device nearly anyone can build themselves and more.

There are many changes to announce. First, we are up and running on the Techpodcasts channel/app on BOXEE. There are two version available on BOXEE for July: The high quality broadcast master for 4MBps high speed and a regular quality version for slower speeds. To find us on BOXEE go to applications and choose Techpodcasts. Select video and you’ll find us listed.

For those who don’t know, BOXEE is about the coolest media center out there. Unlike dedicated boxes or junk that just streams stuff you have on your computer, BOXEE is a standalone app you can run in windows, mac, linux or flash to your Apple TV. Its all setup for remote control and has hundreds of new and older TV shows you actually want to watch, Netflix on demand and more. The second big change is a whole new studio and greenscreen. Both the greenscreen and the studio are much improved, although we do need more backdrop lighting for the greenscreen. That will be taken care of for August.

Another change is that the broadcast masters used for ROKU and BOXEE in high quality 720×480p are now available to watch/download starting with the July episode.

Finally, we are also available on the ROKU/Netflix device on the Techpodcasts app. Simply go to the ROKU channel store and add it to your lineup for FREE.

FridgeFTA TV now available on BOXEE

Boxee, one of the coolest streaming TV thingy’s out there is now carrying FridgeFTA TV! Simply go to apps, we’re in the TV section of Techpodcasts. We are also approved for distrubution on the Blip TV channel on BOXEE but I don’t know when it goes up there.

BOXEE unlike other devices is of an open design so you can run it on Windows, Linux and other platforms. Later this year a DLINK box will be coming out with wireless that does it all. Or hook it into your TV or watch on your computer for free. If you have an Apple TV and hate it you can flash BOXEE on there as well.

In addition to FridgeFTA TV, there is tons of new and older good shows like 24, Caprica, Southpark, V and hundreds more. BOXEE basically finds all the good, free and legal TV content out there and puts it in a easy to use Netflix like interface. And Netflix is on there too.

FridgeFTA TV Now available on ROKU/Netflix IPTV device

FridgeFTA is proud to announce that FridgeFTA TV is available VOD on the Roku device. For anyone who isn’t familiar with Roku, it is the streaming IPTV box used with the Netflix & Amazon on demand movie services. They also have UFC PPV’s live without the required monthly subscription like Comacast or Dish Network in order to access PPV’s. Unlike other cheap imitation devices the Roku doesn’t require that you find content on your computer, then send to your little device, then watch on TV. Roku streams directly from your internet connection live, no computer required.

FridgeFTA TV is available on the Techpodcasts channel (free) and soon on the DreamTV channel, also free. Simply add these channels to your Roku account. If you have any problems, CONTACT US and we’ll be glad to help.

FridgeFTA is signed on as a channel developer for the Roku device and will be bringing much more than just FridgeFTA TV to the Roku in the future. We will also be one of the first developers up on Google TV in 2011.

June FridgeFTA TV Completed

June FridgeFTA TV has completed production!

Most of June is dedicated to FTA 101 for the newbie, but we also have some exciting announcements and a First Look at the new DMS BSC422 twin output C-band LNB. Zombiesat vid in there too!

June FridgeFTA TV will be released a day early on Memorial Day.

Correction to May 2010 Episode – SES-1

We incorrectly reported that SES-1 had arrived at 101W and was undergoing testing. Turns out that the information we received from SkyReport was wrong…SES-1 is at 142W for testing and is prepared to move to 131W if rouge satellite Galaxy15 interferes with the AMC-11 satellite in that slot. Then it will be moved to 101W for further testing and transfer of programming.
